We are currently looking for a suitably qualified, enthusiastic and committed person to supervise a team in carrying out works relating to grounds maintenance within the District. This is an exciting position within the council's award winning grounds maintenance service. You will need to be self-motivated, self-disciplined and have experience in providing effective and efficient service.
You will be required to direct staff and assume supervisory responsibilities, to ensure vehicles, plants and equipment are regularly checked and maintained correctly and carry out gardening functions in order to ensure the council’s standards are achieved and maintained at all times. The functions include site preparation and soft landscaping, maintenance to grassed areas, hedges, flower beds, shrub and rose beds.
We require an individual with good knowledge and experience in horticulture, all elements of grounds maintenance machinery operation including Health and Safety in the workplace and completing Risk Assessments for those areas under your supervision.
Candidates should be competent in carrying out basic machinery maintenance and hold a full UK driving licence preferably with B+E entitlement.
All PPE, training and equipment will be provided for the right candidate.
