We have an exciting opportunity for a Parking Business Officer to join our Parking Team.

The Parking Team manages three very busy parking schemes in Lewes District, Eastbourne Borough and Hastings Borough. The team is responsible for the on street parking restrictions within these civil parking enforcement areas and the enforcement of Lewes District Council's car parks. To achieve this, the team is split into four main areas of responsibility: business, notice processing, contract monitoring and parking reviews.

The main day to day responsibility of the parking business officers is to assist with the efficient running of a responsive and cost-effective service. This involves liaising with contractors and customers, providing advice and guidance to other members of the team, responding to enquiries in a timely manner and some contract monitoring.

As a business officer there will be conflicting demands on your time so you must be skilled in managing your time and be able to prioritise workloads to make sure deadlines are met. You must have excellent IT, written and oral communication skills. Being able to communicate effectively using plain language is essential. You will need to be able to work with tact and sensitivity and have an ability to cope in sometimes stressful situations. Additionally you should have an understanding and knowledge of civil parking enforcement and relevant legislation.

If you enjoy working in a team, are proactive, able to work on your own initiative and prioritise your work to balance competing demands, this role will suit you.
