Job Title: Support Worker (Care)
Location: Welwyn and Hatfield Supported Living Service
Salary Range: £17,681 - £19,819 pa
Hours: 37 per week
As a Support Worker you will be working with people with learning disabilities in their own homes, enabling the person to live as independently as possible in their home and their community. You will be required to support the person in all aspects of their lives in a way that they choose, helping them identify and achieve their goals in life.
On a day to day basis you could be helping someone clean their flat and do their shopping, attend a medical appointment or arrange a cinema trip.
You will work individually and as part of a team. Part of this role is to identify and minimise day to day risks while maximising peoples opportunities.
You will be required to work shifts including evenings and alternate weekends on a rota basis. You must be comfortable in assisting people with personal care as you may be required to do so. On occasions you may be required to work at other similar units in the local area.
You do not need any previous experience or qualifications for this role as training is given, but a willingness to learn and a positive outlook is essential. You must have some computer skills and be able to record and share information clearly.
