Together with families, we will improve the lives and life chances of the children and young people in Lewisham
The Lewisham Educational Psychology Team has an excellent reputation across the local area which is reflected by high levels of buy back from schools, social care and health. We are an especially friendly, collaborative and enthusiastic team. We make new colleagues feel very welcome.
We are a dynamic and creative service with a reputation for a wide range of innovative practice which provides excellent development and learning opportunities. Current examples include joint working with the Virtual School and the Communications Clinic, developing Mindfulness in schools and playing a key role in the Roots of Empathy programme. We also have been involved in carrying out research commissioned by the local authority.
Exciting CPD opportunities are frequently available and currently colleagues are training in VIG. We have close links with the Doctoral training course at University East London and each year support trainee placements within the team.
The newly appointed EPs will provide targeted early intervention services working closely with schools as a Link EP as well as working with early years settings, using a consultative style of delivery. Currently the majority of the work for permanent colleagues is focussed on early intervention work with Locums providing statutory assessments.
