About the Role
This is an exciting and rewarding opportunity to make a difference and join one of the country’s largest and most innovative Trading Standards services. We are looking for one Senior Trading Standards officer and three Trading Standards Officers.
The Senior Trading Standards officer role and one Trading Standards officer role will be based in our award winning Business Team which is recognised for leadership in Primary Authority. As a key member of this team you will use your knowledge and skills to provide the most complex advice to a variety of businesses and support our partners in line with the Primary Authority scheme. In the Trading Standards Officer role you will be able to deliver advice to businesses and will focus on brand protection investigations in partnership with some of our customer businesses.
Two Trading Standards officer roles are in our Regulation team in which you will be delivering a wide range of statutory and regulatory functions, particularly in Food, Agriculture, Product Safety and Animal Health. We have one vacancy in Aylesbury and one in Redhill.
For all roles and to be shortlisted for interview your application/CV will clearly evidence:
- Experience of and an understanding of the legislative framework that Trading Standards must adhere to.
- Experience of providing business advice to a variety of businesses.
- Excellent communication skills and a demonstration of how you are a team player
- A flexible and adaptive approach to work
- Hold a Trading Standards qualification, or demonstrate commensurate experience and knowledge of the broad scope of Trading Standards matters.
Specifically for the Trading Standards Officer role in the Business team you will need
- Experience of Trading Standards criminal investigations
