Reading YOS currently has a vacancy for a Part time Youth Offending Service Officer (approx 0.6 FTE) who will be passionate about enabling young people to achieve their potential while actively working to reduce the risks they pose to others and themselves. The YOS is located within Children’s Social Care and also has strong links with partner services working with young people.
You will need to have significant experience of engaging well with young people, ideally those who have been involved in offending. You will need assessment and organisational skills and flexibility in managing a varied caseload and will also need to be prepared to work some evenings/weekends on an occasional basis.
The post are subject to an Enhanced DBS disclosure check.
The posts is graded at RG5-6. For non professionally qualified staff this post is graded at RG5, (scp 28-34) £25,463- £30,756. For Professionally Qualified staff RG5-6 (scp 28-39) £25,463- £35,229 starting salary is usually expected to be at the start of RG5.
