Starting salary: JG4:- £18,870 per annum
Location: Based in the Town Hall, Weston-super-Mare
Hours: 37 hours per week

We are looking for a Licensing Technical Officer to fill a vacancy in the Environmental Protection and Licensing team. You will be responsible for the issue of legal documents and assisting with compliance monitoring for a range of Licences and permits. You will also provide general advice on Licensing procedures, application processes and complaints. The successful candidate will be responsible for the preparation of physical taxi plates and badges, legal licence documents and preparation of case files for Licensing Officers. Duties will include face to face and telephone contacts, site visits, preparing reports and attending Committees where necessary. The postholder will be expected to participate in our out of hours callout service and some evening/weekend enforcement.
The successful applicant will need to have strong customer service skills and an ability to liaise with external partners, statutory agencies, Councillors and licence holders. Ideally the candidate will need to become a registered DBS countersignatory. They will need to have NVQ2 in numeracy and literacy (or equivalent) and be confident to manage a fast-moving caseload within statutory timescales. Experience of Microsoft packages, maintenance of electronic databases and document management systems is desirable.
