Our Leaving Care service is one of the nation’s biggest and assists each young person (aged 18 +) with managing the transition from care to independence.
Our priority is to help them access opportunities for education and employment. Managing a team with responsibility for a geographical operational area in Birmingham, you will play a leading role in making sure our children in care and leavers get high quality support from us as corporate parents.
Your team will provide
- Services to each care leaver who is 18 years and older.
- Needs Assessment
- Pathway Planning
- Child Protection (s47) investigations for each young person under 18 allocated in the team where required.

Leading by example, you will help us continue to develop a culture of high performance, in which we always strive to achieve better outcomes. Sharing the high aspirations we have for our young people, you will work closely with key partners across Housing, Health and the DWP, to help care leavers grow into successful adults.
A qualified, HCPC registered social worker, you will bring to the role a track record of working with children in care or care leavers. A skilled supervisor, you have a proven ability to develop individuals and teams, enabling them so they can make a bigger difference for vulnerable groups.
