The successful candidate will have excellent communication and analytical skills, demonstrating strong ICT skills and be able to prioritise and enjoy a fast-paced environment with constantly challenging situations.
Ideally they will have experience of contracts, contract management and quality assurance but this is not essential as full training will be provided.
A job description is attached below, including a person specification to assist with completion of your application form.
What would you be doing
A typical working day for a Placement Officer consists of dealing with a range of activities including, referrals, placement changes, monitoring, invoicing and dealing with queries.
Children and young people can be moved from a placement at any time and we need to make sure that we monitor these movements so that our records are kept up to date. A master spreadsheet is used to record where each child is placed and the cost of the placement. The spreadsheet is kept up to date on a daily basis so we know where every child/young person is placed at all times.
We receive queries from both inside the Authority and providers regularly and these queries are dealt with as soon as possible.
Invoices are received daily and these need to be checked against our records to ensure that we are being charged the correct amount. If invoices do not appear to be correct, we investigate further.
When a Social Worker needs to find a placement for a child or young person, it is sent to us to share with the relevant providers in the hope of securing a suitable placement for them.
Other work that we conduct on more of a monthly basis includes monitoring; ensuring providers have the required insurance in place and checking Ofsted reports.
What we offer
Annual leave starting at 25 days (plus Bank Holidays)
Access to employee benefits, including discounts for mobile phone contracts, and TV & Internet bundles, salary sacrifice schemes for cars & additional annual leave
