Corporate Procurement is a specialist support team within the Council's Business Management service and is responsible for the delivery and management of key strategic contracts let by the Council.
A consistent approach to commissioning, sourcing and contract management will provide the Council with a resource to successfully commercially manage contracts. Following a recent restructure, we are now looking to recruit a Contracts Review Assistant.
This new post has been created to support the Commercial Procurement Manager in the delivery of a Contracts Review Programme with targeted savings by developing a procurement cost reduction and value realisation plan, set against an annual spend of £200m.
The role will provide assistance to the review of all 3rd party contracts cost and performance standards with the overall objective of achieving savings, improved service delivery and more focused outcome based contracts.
You will liaise with commissioners and contractors to identify areas of improvement in contract delivery and savings and ensure that all Contract Review activity is conducted within the legal the framework of the Council, UK and EU Regulation. The post holder will need to have experience in a procurement, finance or business role and have excellent analytical and data management skills as well as he ability to organise and prioritise daily tasks and workload.
