West Berkshire Council has an opportunity for two full-time (fixed term) HCPC registered Social Workers to join our friendly and supportive team.
We are a small Local Authority with a mixture of urban and rural communities which offers great variety and positive challenges.
West Berkshire is currently undertaking a project based on targeted reviews. This is in order to ensure that care packages are appropriately sized to meet identified needs and that due regard is paid to the Local Authority’s available resources. As a part of this project, you will be required to undertake these reviews and ensure that services continue to meet the needs of the individuals in a cost-effective way.
You will be working with vulnerable individuals who are not able to make decisions in accordance with the Mental Capacity Act and assess needs for long-term support in accordance with the Care Act.
You will work alongside colleagues who include Social Care Practitioners and Occupational Therapists and will be part of a supportive and lively locality team. You will receive regular supervision and guidance in relation to both the project and your own ongoing development.
This role has been identified as public facing in accordance with Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2017; the requirement to fulfil all spoken aspects of the role with confidence in English applies.
