About the role
The role reports directly to the Assistant Director, Commissioning and Transformation (Adult Social Care and Community Housing) and is responsible for Housing Options (homelessness/housing register/welfare reform), Accommodation Services (temporary accommodation/allocations/private sector schemes) and Housing Support. The role will provide effective leadership to the Community Housing Services ensuring that cross-cutting services and service-related projects achieve desired outcomes and deliver high performance within a networked operating model.

To do this the Council needs Corporate Heads of Service who thrive in a networked organisation and who can work corporately, across complex networks and systems and provide strong leadership within a strategic context.
We are looking for a candidate who has significant experience and a proven track record of achievement in leading and managing Community Housing (Housing Needs) focused services and activities. You will have the ability to demonstrate successful leadership experience and positive outcomes at a senior strategic level within an organisation of similar complexity. The ideal candidate will be experienced in brokering and leading complex, high level partnerships; able to deliver transformational change and achieve improved outcomes through public or private sector partnerships. You will have the skills to apply commercial judgement to make decisions that will deliver cost efficient and effective results for Kingston Council and the Kingston community.
