Part time 18.5 hours per week
9 month Fixed Term Contract, Maternity Cover
We have a temporary vacancy for a Regeneration Project Manager (maternity cover), who will be responsible for a wide range of projects that support the delivery of the Councils strategic objectives. These include high-profile schemes including the £180m North Street Quarter development in Lewes, the Newhaven Enterprise Zone, as well as the delivery of business support initiatives that contribute to the Councils Growth and Prosperity ambitions.
This is an exciting time to work for the Councils, with a process of joint transformation underway that will see the two Councils share a single officer team. Within the new structure the Regeneration team plays a key role in sustaining economic growth, both through the delivery of major schemes and through working with regional and sub-regional bodies and partners to maximise our strategic presence. This includes Local Enterprise Partnerships, as well as the Greater Brighton Economic Board.
It is essential that you have experience of working on major grant funding applications in partnership with external bodies, together with a strong commercial knowledge and an innovative approach to deliver growth to our communities. Excellent IT and communication skills are essential. The role will include direct contact with elected representatives, with the Regeneration portfolio sitting with the Leader of each Council.
The role will offer variety and an opportunity for the right candidate to make their mark within a diverse and fast-paced environment.
The post is offered as maternity cover on a temporary basis for 9 months.
The preferred working pattern for this post is part-time, 18.5 hours per week, which will be agreed between the Council and the preferred candidate.
Interviews to be held on Tuesday 4 December 2018.
