Wanted! Inspiring manager with SEN experience to lead a team of Casework Officers and work to ensure we are meeting the needs of our children and young people!
Main advert detail
The SEN team is made up of dedicated individuals who carry out the Local Authority's statutory, office-based, Special Educational Needs function. We work with parents and carers, young people and partners to co-produce Education, Health and Care Plans.
The successful candidate will have an enabling management style, empowering the SEN Casework Officers to perform their duties efficiently and effectively in order to meet the requirements of the relevant Education Acts, SEN Code of Practice and other legislation.
The SEN Casework Manager will work with schools, colleges and other professionals to ensure children and young people have access to the right provision to meet their needs. They will participate in and make improvements to the moderation panels that consider applications for funding and decide on placements.
We welcome applications from all sections of the community but particularly encourage applicants from a BME or White Other background as well as those who identify as disabled, LGB, male or trans as these groups are currently under-represented in our Directorate workforce.
