The Recreation and Leisure Service team is expanding and we need three new people to help enable Thurrock residents to become more active and engaged in their parks and open spaces. We need innovative people who have a ‘can do’ attitude to deliver a wide range of activities in our parks that get local people involved and enables them to improve their health and well being.
We are looking to build a team that will work on the front line developing new activities including sessions across the parks in Thurrock using outdoor gyms and other existing facilities, motivating the community to engage with wider services, helping develop volunteers and support existing park users to work together to improve the environment. The aim is to improve health outcomes, reduce ASB, ensure park bylaws are enforced and create an environment where our parks are used by more residents. The activities will be for people of all ages from children & young people to senior citizens working across the borough and some sessions will be delivered by partners.
The successful applicant will be required to hold a Sports NGB Level 2 Qualification or QCF Level 2 in Environmental Services or have at minimum of 3 years’ experience of working in a community engagement within a park setting.
