More about the role:

This is a brand-new strategic role to Central Bedfordshire Council's Housing Property team.  The Housing Asset Investment Manager will manage the Active Asset Management Team, while working in partnership with the operational teams.  You will provide Leadership and direction of the capital investment and cyclical programmes of the Council’s Housing Asset (value: circa £1 billion, 5,500 homes, land, other buildings) to include demand-led strategies for investment (circa £10M per annum) ensuring optimal and sustainable use of the asset, as well as return from the investment and the potential for alternative use (e.g. re-development, asset disposal, etc.).

As part of a new delivery model, you will analyse the performance of the housing stock to strengthen the council’s asset management strategy.  The post holder will ensure the housing stock provides an excellent social and economic return on investment through (primarily) a programme of property disposal and capital investment.  In this way, the post-holder will ensure that less money is spent per property over time, whilst the housing asset shall remain fit for purpose and in good condition making Central Bedfordshire a great place to live and work for all.
