We have a part time, 20 hour Family Worker post at the Huntingdon and St Ives Child and Family Centres. The role of Child and Family Centres is to improve outcomes for all children, and to reduce inequalities in outcomes between children growing up in disadvantage and the wider population. Child and Family Centres form part of the service delivery of 0-19 Early Help District teams and provide a focus for teams to deliver universal and targeted services to families with young children. The role of a Family Worker is to provide targeted individual and group interventions to children and families, with a specific focus on the 0-19 age group, enabling needs to be met where community-based support is insufficient. You would be expected to work within a systemic/think family approach, in partnership with families, to strengthen their capacity to manage difficulties, meet needs and manage risk, and enable families to effectively utilise available support within their family and community networks. We are looking for someone who is an enthusiastic and dedicated worker. You should have experience of working with families and children, and be committed to working with families who can find it harder to engage with universal services. You should be a good communicator and team worker and be able to demonstrate how you have succeeded in working effectively; and ideally hold a relevant NVQ or similar equivalent qualification. Please evidence on your supporting statement how you meet the essential criteria of the person specification. We offer: • A competitive salary • Excellent index-linked, defined benefit pension scheme including life assurance benefits • Outstanding occupational sick; maternity/paternity and shared parental leave schemes – well above the statutory minimum • Generous annual leave entitlement increasing with length of service and ability to buy more • Training and development For further information or an informal discussion, please contact the Child and Family Centre Manager - Nicky Munro on 07776 462777 or the Early Help Assistant Managers Caroline Twin on 07767 615245. Interviews will be held on 27th November. If you have any technical problems when submitting your application please contact the helpdesk on 0300 126 7777. Cambridgeshire County council will always advise you if you have been shortlisted or not. If you do not receive this before the advertised interview date, please check you junk mail, and then contact the recruiting manager.
