We are looking for people who have a passion for learning, have a flare for building confidence, and a willingness to improve their own skills.

You will need to be an expert in your subject, and have experience of teaching and assessment, although we will offer training. The classes could include absolute beginners and/or learners with some experience, moving learners on to advanced classes later on.  You will therefore be teaching a mixed ability class with learners of varying levels

Person Specification: You thrive on the success of others, are committed to providing an excellent learning experience, and are willing to improve your own skills, value learner achievement and know (or are willing to learn) how to measure it. You have excellent communication and can alter your style as appropriate to the learner and may have experience of teaching/supporting adults.

In return ACRES offers full mentoring and support, the opportunity for further training, and potential to expand teaching.

You will design, deliver, assess and evaluate courses to suit the identified needs of the group, taking into account differing levels of skills and experience, enabling all to achieve their aims. You will work closely with our Business Development Team / Learning and Development Team who will support your work throughout.

The Adult College for Rural East Sussex provides learning in and around the towns of Battle, Crowborough, Hailsham, Uckfield, Heathfield and Wadhurst. The course location will be based on customer/learner need, initially in Uckfield, Wadhurst or Heathfield. We will endeavour to ensure that you are assigned courses within a reasonable distance of your home but a willingness to travel to different venues is important. You will be assigned one course in the first instance, and then once the quality is assured, there will be the opportunity to expand the provision to other times and venues. Please be aware that this role involves planning and assessing learning outside of the contact time, which you will be paid for.
