£11.84 per hour plus £1.66 per hour pay in lieu of leave allowance, pro rata to £22,233 per annum, based at Applewood Community Home, Tadworth, Surrey.
An enhanced DBS ‘Disclosure and Barring Service’ check for regulated activity (formerly known as CRB) and the Children’s and Adults’ Barred List checks will be required for this role.

Applewood forms an essential part Surrey County Council’s provision for disabled children, young people and their families. It receives positive feedback from families and professionals and is rated “Good” by Ofsted under the Children Homes regulations.
Applewood provides overnight short breaks to children and young people with a range of disabilities. During their short breaks Applewood offers the children and young people an exciting, safe and fun environment in which they learn new skills such as shopping and food preparation, as well as social and communication skills which are developed by accessing leisure activities within the community.
We are looking for enthusiastic and flexible workers to support disabled children and young people and their families.
Our children and young people require empathy, patience and positive energy to empower them to develop. While there will be challenging times, the reward of seeing children and young people have fun and develop with increased life opportunities, is deeply satisfying.
The key function of the role is to work directly with children and young people. It requires a child centred approach and may involve supporting young people with their personal and intimate care.
This is a challenging and varied role requiring excellent communication skills and a desire to work in partnership with families and a range of professionals.
