We provide high quality care and support for children with learning difficulties/disabilities and their families.
We are looking for sessional child care workers to join our team, working with the children, who receive short breaks within our range of services
You will be an experienced and have a good understanding of the needs of children with learning difficulties/disabilities, some of whom may at times display challenging behaviour, and be knowledgeable about the issues relating to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
You will receive a full and comprehensive training programme as part of your induction, and ongoing training and supervision. You are required to be trained to Residential Childcare (NVQ) level 3 or equivalent.
About the role
As a Sessional worker you will work alongside the Child Care Officers to ensure that the children’s views and wishes are listened to and needs met, as well as contributing to the smooth and effective running of the Service. You will be working flexible hours and at times, provide annual leave or sickness cover, within a 24 hour rota. Regular work is not guaranteed, as you will be part of a ‘bank’ of staff who we can contact to support and cover shifts, although some regular shifts may be available.
