South Hams District Council and West Devon Borough Council operate a wide range of front line services which are dedicated to improving the local area and the communities we serve. The Council has taken an innovative approach to its delivery of these services and the new Head of Community Services & Operations will be integral in leading our Localities Team, along with our Ground Maintenance, Property Services, Enforcement and parking. We are looking for someone how make a real visible difference that our residents can be proud of and our visitors in awe of. You will be able to use your formidable leadership skills to motivate, lead and develop a diverse team. This role will have a big impact on how all of our front line services are strategically delivered and you will act as the Councils’ key operational manager in providing performance and quality control whilst delivering an efficient and effective service within budget.
This role is required to implement and develop new ways of working, collaborate with members, town and parish councils and other stakeholders to resolve issues and bring about improvement in customer service. It’ll be a demanding role, but will be supported by an experienced senior leadership team, who are committed to providing the best services possible for our residents.
