The London Borough of Newham Adults and Health has fast developed a national reputation for creative and innovative approaches to improving outcomes for residents. We passionately believes the best way to improve outcomes for resident’s is through adopting public health, strengths based and trauma informed approaches. These qualities are at the heart of successes,
- The award winning Health and Wellbeing Strategy, 50 Steps to a Healthier Newham,
- Praise from the Secretary of State relating to supporting Rough Sleepers,
- Innovative strategies to Domiciliary Care and Trusted Assessors
- Food security work, ensuring all residents can access affordable healthy food

ABOUT THE JOB
We are currently looking for a commissioner to join our Supporting Independence team. The portfolio covers our accommodation based services (£30m spend), including Supported living, Extra Care, Shared Lives, Rough Sleeping and Single Vulnerable Homeless.
If you have a passion for supporting vulnerable adults but never ‘commissioned’ before, please research the commissioning cycle. The likelihood is that you will have done many elements of commissioning without realising and would be able to demonstrate transferable skills
You would be joining the team at a key and exciting time.
