Location: Base: Stevenage, Farnham House – Delivery: North Herts and Stevenage
Starting Salary: £31,895 with the opportunity to progress to a maximum of £35,336 pa (pro rata for part-time)
Hours: 18.5 per week (Term Time + 2 weeks)
Contract: Permanent

Job Duties:
The Integrated Services for Learning SEND Specialist Advice and Support Service (SEND SAS) works with children and young people 0 – 25, with a range of complex needs. The 0 – 5 service offers advice and support to families and settings; through a number of different roles within the team, using a graduated approach to both children’s and settings needs.
A key function of ISL SEND SAS is to ensure that the educational and developmental progress of children and young people (0-25), with a range of SEND, is met in line with the Hertfordshire Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) Strategy and HCC strategic objectives.
The Inclusion Development Officer (IDO) role sits within the 0 – 5 team and focuses on promoting inclusive practice within pre-schools. The role provides systemic advice, support, and training to private, voluntary, and independent (PVI) early years’ settings. A willingness to deliver early years training and support to flexibly on occasions is desirable (evenings / out of term time).
You will hold a relevant degree in EY education or EY childhood studies, further qualifications in SEND would also be desirable. You will need extensive experience of Early Years practice and education, working with children under five and a range of children with SEND.
