Planning Enforcement Assistant - Development Management
Full Time (37 hours per week) / Permanent
We are looking for a dynamic individual to join the Development Management Team where you will be responsible for investigating complaints regarding potential minor breaches of planning control and pro-actively monitoring new development to reduce the potential for harm to amenity and to ensure compliance with the legislative and planning policy framework. You will support the Planning Enforcement Officer in the execution of their duties.
We are looking for an enthusiastic person with an aptitude for problem solving. The post requires excellent organisation and negotiation skills, and you will need to demonstrate tact and diplomacy in dealing with customers and an aptitude for maintaining and reviewing detailed records. You will need to be assertive at times, have sound communication skills and the ability to explain clearly the details of planning legislation to a varied customer base. You will frequently need to work on your own initiative both in the office and on sites throughout the Borough. An ability to interpret, understand and explain plans and technical drawings is essential.
