You will be supported to carry out the following duties & responsibilities…
To manage and support the highway safety inspections team, having due regard to the relevant codes of practice, legislative requirements and council maintenance polices to ensure that the Council meets its statutory requirements in relation to highway maintenance and related public safety.
Work collaboratively across the organisation to build and develop our revenue-based highway maintenance programmes, including how we manage our networks assets whilst achieving best value for money.
React quickly and decisively to urgent works required to ensure our highway is safe for all users.

What we're looking for...
Great at prioritising and a self-motivated individual, who is creative, innovative, and comfortable working to deadlines. Good communication skills are vital, as are the interpersonal skills it takes to work as part of a team and liaise with a wide range of professionals.
To succeed, you’ll need a Degree HNC/HND in an appropriate discipline, knowledge of the Highways Act 1980, New Roads and Street Works Act 1991 and other relevant codes of practice and legislation. Confident in your ability to apply current government policies and design standards. You’re also adept at analysing information and producing coherent reports and recommendations on your specialist service area.
Interviews will be held week commencing 13th February 2023.
