Salary - £25,878 to £29,439 with progression to below officer post via funded qualification.
Grade: F Planning Officer Policy and Development
Salary - £30,151to £33,820
Located between Nottingham and Derby, Erewash Borough comprises both rural Green Belt and the busy towns of Long Eaton and Ilkeston. We are looking for an enthusiastic planning policy professional to join our Policy & Regeneration Team. You will join us at an exciting time as we prepare for a Local Plan examination, having recently submitted The Erewash Core Strategy Review to the Secretary of State. You will need to bring enthusiasm and dedication to the role which involves all aspects of planning policy work, ensuring the delivery of a high quality planning service. Duties involve preparing evidence for a Local Plan Inquiry and engaging with a wide range of stakeholders in the preparation of policy documents. As part of this career graded post, the council will cover the cost of a part time Masters course to enable progress from assistant to officer level. Direct entry at officer level (Grade F) is also available to suitably qualified candidates.
You must be able to demonstrate up-to-date planning policy knowledge, a recognised town planning qualification or equivalent and be eligible for membership of the RTPI.
This post is full time and is based at Long Eaton Town Hall. There may be a requirement occasionally to work outside of normal office hours in consultations or to attend committee meetings.
