The Liverpool City Region Combined Authority is seeking exceptional people to deliver our vision for an inclusive, globally competitive city region. Skills Bootcamps funding provide flexible courses as part of the government’s Levelling Up agenda and Lifetime Skills Guarantee and we are grant funded to deliver these locally on an annual basis from the Department for Education. Our aim is to help employers and participants to find jobs in the Liverpool City Region and help employers in growing sectors such as Digital, HGV, Rail and Construction to meet their skills needs.
Based in the Investment and Delivery Directorate and reporting to the Lead Officer Skills Programmes, this role will provide leadership to the established Skills Bootcamps team in the successful delivery of the current £8m wave 3 programme, including preparation for the development and implementation of wave 4 from April 2023 and future waves as appropriate.
We are seeking an individual with significant experience of programme and performance management, able to provide operational oversight of large or complex projects, ideally within the public sector. Applicants will have direct experience of commissioning and procurement of skills programmes and managing a team to support programme delivery.
Experience of understanding employer skills needs and supporting in the development of programmes to meet skills gaps is essential, as is experience of working with and managing training providers. The applicant must be able to demonstrate how they are effective at building relationships with multiple stakeholders such as LEPs and government departments.
We expect that the post holder will have an understanding of and a personal commitment to the vision and aims of Liverpool City Region Combined Authority. The post is subject to a Basic DBS check.
