We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our Accountancy Section on a permanent basis.
This is a great opportunity if you are looking for a career in local government finance. The role involves performing reconciliations, monitoring of budgets, and assisting with the external audit of the council.
We are also offering training towards a professional qualification including study leave.
You will be responsible for preparing reconciliations and investigating and correcting any reconciling items. Other duties will include assisting in the monitoring of revenue budgets, maintaining a register of all grant income received by the council, and assisting with providing information to the council’s external auditor. You will also assist in supporting directorates by providing a professional accountancy advice.
You will need to have a good standard of education and be proficient in the use of spreadsheets. Experience in a financial or accounting environment is desired and experience of using modern financial systems such as e5 would be an advantage.
