Are you looking for a new challenge or progression in your career?

Are you an effective communicator with experience of partnership working?

Would you like the opportunity to work within Burnley Council’s high performing Engineering Services Team within our Streetscene Unit?

Then this exciting role could be for you.

Burnley Council are seeking an individual to work across a number of key projects, with both internal and external stakeholders, within a busy Engineering Team.

You will be an experienced Civil / Municipal Engineer with relevant Engineering qualifications.  You will assist with the design and contract supervision of engineering schemes and improvements to the public realm including drainage, street lighting, car parks, CCTV, landscaping and other municipal works.

You will have the competencies expected of an Assistant Engineer, with the ability to help and manage the Unit’s Capital schemes and Revenue Projects of varying sizes within the Council’s programme.

If you have what it takes to be part of a small Project Team - involving operational skills and some management and monitoring of staff (but not line management) – we want to hear from you.

Burnley is a great place to work.  We value our employees and offer a generous pension scheme, holiday entitlement and work / life balance initiatives.

Burnley has a thriving town centre with a new leisure / retail complex opening soon and is surrounded by beautiful countryside.  There are excellent transport links across the area with direct train lines to Manchester and Leeds.

If you wish to have an informal discussion about the role contact Peter Stobbs (Streetscene) on 01282 477328
