Electoral Services Manager

We are looking for a highly motivated Electoral Services Manager to lead on the delivery of elections and electoral registration. The postholder will be appointed Deputy Electoral Registration Officer and Deputy Returning Officer and will assist the Police Area Returning Officer in co-ordinating the running of the Police and Crime Commissioner elections across the whole of the County.
This role will be critical in delivering the requirements of the Elections Act 2022. You will also lead on reviews of electoral arrangements and boundaries as required by the Boundary Commission, as well as any Community Governance Reviews undertaken. You will take the lead on the annual canvass of electors and will be responsible for the development and implementation of the public awareness strategy and measures aimed at increasing registration levels.
We are looking for an experienced officer with effective leadership skills, as well as an in-depth knowledge of elections and electoral registration legislation. You must be able to demonstrate line management experience and be confident in developing staff and supporting them in delivering an effective service. You will need to have excellent IT skills, particularly with the use of an electoral management system, as well as strong communication and organisational skills. The Association of Electoral Administrators (AEA) Certificate would be desirable.
