Job Title: Deputy Team Manager - Sensory Services
Starting Salary: £48,923 with the opportunity to progress to a maximum of £54,145 (pro rata for part-time)*

We are looking for a Sensory Services Deputy Team Manager to join our dynamic management team covering a County-Wide Sensory Services whose focus is on enabling individuals (children & adults) with visual impairments, deaf/ hard of hearing and dual sensory loss to achieve optimum control of their lives.
With a professional qualification in Social Work/ Occupational Therapy (HCPC registered); or Rehabilitation with Visual Impairment/ Deafblind Studies, you will manage a dedicated specialist multi-disciplinary team of 23, including Rehabilitation Officers, Deafblind Worker and Community Care Officers, in order to ensure our Service is undertaken effectively and efficiently on a day to day basis.
Sensory Services work closely with 0-25 Services, Advisory teachers (Education), Adult Disability Services and Older People Services; you will be expected to liaise closely with their locality teams, supporting the Team Manager in achieving targets supporting people with sensory needs living in the community. You will plan, allocate and review workloads, manage priorities and implement and improve systems and processes to achieve performance targets.
You will have extensive knowledge and experience in the field of adult social care, with an emphasis on working with people with sensory needs, safeguarding practice, and risk management.
You will have the ability to manage competing service priorities and a sound grasp of current legislation including the Care Act, Personalisation agenda and meeting the business objectives of the department.
Demonstrating management skills, you will have excellent all round communication and negotiation skills in leading an experienced staff team. Working in partnership with the Statutory, Voluntary and Independent sector partners, you will contribute to the development of services to improve the customer journey.
You will also have demonstrable experience of managing/ supervising staff including Performance Management, formal supervision and appraisal. In providing clear leadership and direction to the team, you will have skills in mentoring/ coaching staff in managing complex cases and the ability to manage the team and services to meet the needs of our client groups, taking into account the learning and development needs of staff.
With a professional qualification in Social Work/ Occupational Therapy (HCPC registered); or Rehabilitation with Visual Impairment/ Deafblind Studies and have relevant management experiences in supporting the team/ services.
