We are seeking an individual to  provide comprehensive administrative support to the electoral services team, including handling incoming and outgoing post, responding to emails, along with handling telephone calls to the service from our residents. You would also be expected to deal with Polling station bookings and election staff paperwork.

You will assist with electoral registration procedures, including dealing with enquiries relating to absent voting and the inputting of details into the computer database. You will be expected to handle the administration of elections, producing standard letters, forms and reports from the computer system, as required.

At times, working independently without supervision, you will be solely responsible for your attention to detail and the accuracy and correctness of the information you impart.

With a secondary education to GCSE standard grade and grade A*–C (or equivalent) in English, and strong IT skills, you will have a good standard of literacy and the ability to record accurately information from voter registration forms. You will be able to work to established routines and procedures, and have a commitment to customer care, treating people with respect and politeness and impartiality.

You must not hold a political post in the Borough.

A Standard DBS check will be required before appointment.

This role is 20 hours per week (plus additional hours during peak periods, some of which maybe anti-social, i.e. late nights or weekends, during Election period.)

The role is a temporary position from  1st March 2023 – 26th May 2023. Hours to be agreed.
