The Spotlight Theatre is looking to recruit an experienced Bar Manager who is passionate about bringing their own knowledge and passion for service to our loyal customers.
The right candidate will be a committed, can-do manager who enjoys working in an exciting, fast-paced environment. The bar manager will promote and grow the business, hire and train staff, and ensure that customers are receiving an excellent food and drink service.
You will be involved in managing the service around our busy events schedule including shows, conferences, parties and regular screenings of the latest films in our intimate cinema. Shift patterns can include weekdays, weekends and evenings.
You will also manage inventory and resources, plan promotional events, ensure that quality and safety controls are followed, create schedules, and set business objectives to increase profits and maximise customer satisfaction. You will also be able to work with diverse personalities and diffuse tense situations.
You will have the opportunity to take the lead role in developing a bespoke food offering for the venue that fits with the changing nature of events on offer at the Spotlight.
In order to succeed, you should be observant with the ability to think critically and efficiently. You should be a skilled communicator with excellent problem solving, observation, and interpersonal skills. You will need to have worked in a similar environment, with experience of providing a professional, friendly service as well as training and overseeing the work of other staff.
Applicants must be over 18 and willing to hold a personal licence to sell alcohol on behalf of the venue. The ability to converse at ease with members of the public and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential in this post.
