We are looking for an inspirational and experienced leader to deliver front-line services and meet the future opportunities and challenges of the Environment Act and our Net Zero ambitions.
You’ll probably be a member of the CIWM, or be a highly experienced waste sector leader, ready to take on environmentally driven future service improvements and build on the high-quality in-house delivered services. You’ll be a team player willing to work in a close-knit team that delivers the vast majority of front-facing services to the residents and businesses within the Barnsley Borough.
From a resource perspective, you’ll have experience managing a team of up to 250 people. You’ll possess strategic, tactical and operational experiences in delivering waste & recycling collection and disposal, street cleansing, fly-tipping removal, grass cutting, allotments and arbour services. You’ll be experienced in working collaboratively with our elected Members, and senior management. Whilst working with other departments like Public Health and Communities, external partners and community organisations, other stakeholders in the borough and regional and national government bodies.
