Lincolnshire County Council is offering an opportunity to make a difference to road safety within the county. We are looking for a Road Safety Officer (RSO) to join our Education team (Boston based) and use their skills to positively educate and influence people into becoming safer road users.
A rare opportunity has become available within the Education, Training and Publicity (ETP) arm of the Lincolnshire Road Safety Partnership. Working under the management of the Education Supervisor, the successful applicant will join four existing RSO's in proactively delivering a comprehensive road safety service to reduce death and injury on Lincolnshire's roads.
We are looking for a dynamic, innovative, collaborative, coordinated and proactive individual to be part of a well-established team, contributing not only towards delivering road safety via education but also participating in wider team and organisation activity including training and engagement. Effective and efficient line-management of a number of School Crossing Patrols within an appointed area including; recruitment, appointment, training, supervision and management will form a large part of the role.
We are seeking a confident public speaker who is able to demonstrate effective communication skills, deliver presentations effectively and professionally, and engage in planned or impromptu Q&A where necessary. A high level of computer literacy and proficient task management skills are essential as you will be working on multiple projects and often to tight deadlines. Our RSO's are required to provide a professional public interface with local communities, schools, Parish Councils and other relevant bodies. You will be able to demonstrate an ability to deliver education to a high standard, possess excellent presentation, interpersonal and written and verbal skills.
You will be working remotely from your own team but cohesively alongside them together with the Training and Publicity (engagement) teams to achieve collaborative and individual successes, you will further contribute to improving established education practices, consider and offer identified areas for continuous improvement in addition to evaluation analysis. Working as part of a team is key to achieving success, utilising resources where necessary and supporting wider ETP projects where required.
You must be prepared to represent LRSP at relevant education events, training courses, meetings, seminars or conferences.
A current valid UK driving licence is essential. Use of your own vehicle for travel plus carrying materials and equipment is necessary, for which mileage can be claimed.
A flexible attitude to evening and weekend working is encouraged.
