An exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit a Principal Planning Enforcement Officer who will be able to work as part of a team and make a broad contribution to the provision of the planning enforcement function of the Service.

We are looking for highly motivated, enthusiastic and talented individual for this role. The successful candidate will need to be well organised with good communication skills, be flexible and adaptable, and able to maintain and update files and records.

The ideal candidate will have had previous experience of planning enforcement and will be able to make an immediate and on-going contribution to the work of a busy service.  Consideration will be given to candidate with experience in a similar legislative regime / relevant field if it can be demonstrated that such experience will enable an immediate contribution in the Planning service environment.

Appointment to Principal Planning Enforcement Officer is subject to having suitable qualifications and experience.  The successful candidate at this level will also be confident in dealing with difficult or confrontational situations as well as explaining the often complex elements of planning law, and experience in an Appeal process and / or Court hearings will be extremely important. 

There may be occasions where it would be expedient to work unsocial hours or outside normal office hours and it is possible that these occasions may be at short notice.
