The new Elizabeth Line is bringing central London even closer to Redbridge than ever before, and the 24-hour Central Line night tube means the City is accessible at all hours. Redbridge really is a place for everyone, whether they're a young professional making their first steps on the property ladder, parents looking for great schools for their children or for those looking enjoy their retirement somewhere with an abundance of green space and leisure opportunities.
The Community Social Work Service is a well-established and dynamic safeguarding service working primarily with children and their families living within the local community. The casework is largely focused upon children who are subject to Child in Need and Child Protection plans living within families affected by multiple issues including domestic abuse, substance misuse and parental mental health. The teams also work with Children Looked After by the Local Authority and children subject to public law court proceedings.
The service has a culture of accessible and supportive management and is committed to the development of individual staff members regardless of their experience. The service has well established relationships with local statutory and voluntary partners with whom they work closely in order to effectively safeguard children and is open to learning and developing in accordance with changing local needs.
As a family support worker you will develop a wide range of skills. Building on your current experience you will work within a diverse borough in a team that employs a multi-agency approach to achieve positive results for the families and the whole community. You will develop your assessment and report writing skills, network with a number of partner agencies identified to support families and adopt a flexible working approach to meet individual family needs. You will be at the fore front of an exciting time in Redbridge where the Community Social Work Service continues to develop working partnerships and new and innovative ways of delivering Early Help.
This would be an ideal opportunity for a suitably qualified individual who has experience of child development, family support, and writing reports.
Redbridge is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young children, young people and vulnerable adults. Some posts will require a DBS disclosure check and references may also be taken up prior to interview.
