We are looking for an apprentice to join our Park and Countryside Rangers.
You will gain valuable work experience, work with a great team and develop your skills and knowledge by undertaking a recognised qualification; Level 2 Environmental Conservation.
In this role, you will support the Rangers to ensure that the Parks and other green spaces within the district are safe, enjoyable and educational.
You will work with volunteers and colleagues to liaise with local schools, youth groups and other groups to run guided walks and coordinate activities encouraging people to use these wonderful spaces. You will also carry out minor repairs and maintenance to ensure that the spaces are well kept and assist with the collection of data to monitor usage of the facilities.
You must be prepared to work outside in all weather conditions, be flexible in your approach to tasks and have the ability to adapt to any changes or additions to your workload. You should have English and Maths GCSE or equivalent, the ability to read and understand instructions and enjoy communicating with a wide range of people.
The role will include working at various locations and you must be able to travel within the district as well as be happy to travel to Derby College as required for your qualification.
