Corporate Property Technical Assistant
Salary up to £26,094
Help grow our business and our reputation!
Ashford Borough Council is not just any local authority. We think commercially, we are entrepreneurial, we think creatively and do things differently. And this role is at the heart of this dynamic corporate mentality.
The Corporate Property and Projects team is driving forward this agenda not just within the council and the borough, but countywide and organisations from further afield are taking note of the innovative approach we have adopted.
The council is actively looking at acquiring land, securing important assets and intervening to accelerate the delivery of major regeneration projects in the borough. By doing so it is making Ashford a vibrant and thriving borough, as well as securing new funding streams to enable us to enhance our services and manage funding reductions from government.
This role will be pivotal to the functionality of the team. You will have a wide range of technical and administrative experience (including an understanding of property valuation), and will support the other officers within the property team. You will be responsible for maintaining the list of council-owned assets using our asset management software system. You will also arrange meetings and take accurate minutes to provide an audit trail, critical to the buy-in of all stakeholders of the direction of travel.
As an excellent communicator, you will relish the opportunity to be an ambassador for the council and be professional when dealing with members of the public, borough councillors and officers from other departments. You will also foster the relationships we have with key stakeholders on our project portfolios, negotiating where need be and thinking about delivering value for money.
A financial background will also be important, as you will monitor and forecast budgets, identify savings and review rental income for the assets owned by the council.
We are committed to self-improvement. If you are, and you want to work for a modern, progressive local authority, we look forward to hearing from you! For an informal discussion about this role please contact Caroline Roberts 01233 330605
