It’s a really exciting time to join our HR & OD team right now. With a new Assistant Director in place, and a new structure to ensure we are best placed to support business needs, we’ve a number of exciting vacancies to fill which will help us support the Council’s ambitions and aspirations.
The Workforce and Organisational Development team is responsible for the development and implementation of the Councils approach to staff development, wellbeing, engagement and learning.
About the Role
The Learning and Development Consultant will work very closely with the Workforce and Organisational Development Lead and the wider team to provide a vital service for the Council. They will be responsible for working with stakeholders within the Council to assess learning needs and delivery or commission this as required.
The post holder will be a subject matter expert for learning and will be an important part of promoting learning opportunities within the Council. They will be responsible for the development and delivery of required training programmes in line with the strategic objectives of the Council.
Working with our wider Human Resources and Organisational Development Team, the post holder will be responsible for developing learning programmes to address the needs of the organisation. Additionally, they will need to support the wider function in the delivery of key activities including performance management, well-being strategy and the staff engagement.
The successful candidate will have significant learning and development experience, preferably within a Local Government setting but not essentially. The role requires the ability to deliver face to face training on site and the development of training initiatives including all supporting materials.
We are looking for an experienced learning professional who can work as part of a team but also is an independent self-starter.
