This post is offered on a Temporary contract.
From Soho’s thriving nightlife to the tranquil peace of our beautiful parks, Westminster has something for everyone. Home to some of the capital’s most colourful and diverse communities, our remit spans from the lavish elegance of Knightsbridge to the multicultural neighbourhoods of China Town and Edgware Road.
Westminster holds an understandable allure for London’s tourists, and it also offers a unique proposition for its residents and the businesses who operate within its boundaries. But with more than one million people passing through the area every day, Westminster faces the challenges presented by poor air quality. This is a problem that we are committed to tackling, and it is here that you can catapult your career potential with the Cross River Partnership, a not-for-profit private-public partnership that delivers ground-breaking projects.
Using your knowledge of environmental and air quality issues, you will help businesses across central London become more efficient and reduce their impact on air quality. Taking a guiding hand in these projects (and ensuring that they are cost-effective and meeting deadlines), you will help the businesses understand the actions they need to take to deliver sustainable results. You will also gather best practice case studies and be instrumental in data collection and reporting.
Working across a wide range of projects, you will be involved in areas such as freight and transport, spending a considerable amount of time out of the office as you engage with businesses. You will therefore have exceptional verbal and written communication skills, particularly as you will be tasked with developing marketing material and leading on social media campaigns. With experience of business engagement to implement behaviour change and good business sustainability knowledge, you will understand the complexities of balancing the needs of private and public sector partners.
This is a valuable opportunity to develop your knowledge amongst our supportive team, so if you’re as productive as you are ambitious and collaborative as you are enterprising, this is your chance to take real ownership of your work, right in the heart of iconic Westminster, a true ‘City for All’. This is a unique place where it all happens. And where it could all happen for you.
As a progressive and innovative organisation, we welcome applications from candidates keen on working in an agile environment with flexible conditions.
