We are seeking an enthusiastic motivated individual, who can deal sensitively with a range of customers, who responds well to working within the community, enjoys working with the public and who can demonstrate a real commitment to providing excellent customer care and top quality service.
You must be an effective communicator and confident negotiator in order to deliver extremely challenging rent collection targets. You will be responsible for maximisation of income collection and arrears reduction on a diverse caseload.
Duties include ensuring that tenants and customers receive prompt and accurate advice regarding their accounts, to undertake home visits to discuss arrears and debts, negotiate repayment options, to give initial welfare benefits advice, and to keep clear records of all actions taken.
Previous experience of working with the public in a similar capacity is essential as is a good working knowledge of database systems and account management, and welfare benefits and debt advice services, preferably within a housing setting.

This post is 37 hours per week working Monday, to Friday and is hybrid working primarily based at the council’s offices at Palatine Hall, Lancaster. This post is temporary until November 2023.
