Lancaster City Council is seeking to recruit a reliable Lead Cleaner to perform and undertake cleaning duties at our offices and buildings.
Also to supervise and assign work to building cleaning staff within the City Council’s Municipal Buildings and Commercial Properties, including Lancaster Town Hall. Ability to communicate clearly and to understand written instructions is essential.
Ensure the workload and schedules are adhered to and that they comply with the specification associated with the particular tasks involved.
To monitor and ensure quality of workmanship on a daily basis taking the appropriate remedial action where standards are not being met.
To be responsible for stocks of materials – keeping records, issuing and reordering in an efficient and accountable manner.
To fill out weekly timesheets and complete/keep records/paperwork necessary for the post. To be in possession of building keys, locking and secure premises including operation of alarm systems where appropriate.
It would be an advantage to have experience of similar work, although full training will be provided. You will sweep and mop floors, clean toilets, dust, polish, clean surfaces and empty bins.
This position is based at Morecambe Hall, Lancaster. The hours of work are 14 hours per week, working 5pm - 8pm Monday to Thursday, and 5pm - 7:30pm on Fridays, but the hours may be needed at other Council buildings. You will be expected to work in any Council location as requested, with reasonable notice.
You may also be required to work as Lead Cleaner at weekends in the event of functions at Lancaster Town Hall.
