You will be part of the busy Housing Options Team, providing help and support to residents in housing need, including those who are homeless.
Your responsibilities will include the day-to-day administration and management of temporary accommodation provided to homeless households. You will ensure that the accommodation is of a good standard and that all health and safety checks are complete prior to occupation. You will ensure the incoming occupant is aware of their rights and responsibilities, such as the need to pay occupancy charges, and be a point of contact in case of any issues. You will assist in preparing the occupant to move on into settled accommodation, helping to ensure any obstacles to their successful move on are addressed.
The role is challenging but very rewarding. The successful candidate will need to have excellent customer service and communication skills to positively engage with service users. The role can be reactive and so the postholder must be flexible and happy to adapt their approach to deal with emerging issues.
