About the role
Attendance Officer - The Turing School
Salary: £18,599 - £19,882 pro rata (£21,528 - £23,013 FTE) SAT 5
Term time plus 5 staff development days.
37 hours a week, Monday to Friday.
We have a new and exciting opportunity for an Assistant to join our Admin team at The Turing School.
As an Attendance Officer, you will undertake administrative tasks associated with the recording, management and monitoring of attendance; working with individual pupils and their families to improve attendance.
Key duties will include:
- Record student absences and late arrivals;
- Maintain accurate attendance records;
- Make enquiries with parents / carers regarding unexplained absences;
- Raise attendance concerns to the headteacher;
- Support headteacher at formal meetings with parents / carers to discuss attendance issues.
The successful candidate will need:
- A good general education;
- A willingness to undertake appropriate training and professional development;
- Good IT skills;
- To be able to maintain accurate records;
- To be able to priortise and manage own workload.
- To be able to deal appropriately and effectively with children, parents, staff and professionals from outside agencies at all levels.
A qualification related to working with children and young people, knowledge of Schoolcomms and Google Suite, and the ability to produce reports and analyse data would be an advantage but are not essential.
