Help us give families and vulnerable children the support they need
At the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, we are focused on putting our residents and local businesses at the heart of every decision. From the policy decisions we make through to the services we deliver, it is vital that we put the needs of our community first. We want to give everyone a great quality of life, with access to a comfortable home, sustainable and desirable employment options, and the chance to live and work in a healthy and safe environment. Our outstanding social work teams play a vital role in achieving these goals.
We are looking for a qualified social worker to join us in the Disabled Children’s Team based at Kensington Town Hall. We are a specialist social work service within Family and Children’s Services. We work with children and young people aged 0 to 25 who are significantly affected by a physical or learning disability, autism, or chronic ill health. We have a close working relationship with the specialist children’s centre for disabled children, located close by. We work alongside the Short Breaks Team, Special Educational Needs Department and Transport Team.
As a member of the dedicated children’s disability social work team, you will find a collaborative team spirit awaits you. Together with the team, you will deliver high-quality social work services to disabled children and young people and their families. As you manage your own complex, varied and challenging caseload, you will effectively address risk and plan interventions for vulnerable children and young people, delivering a high-quality service to families living across the borough.
The team is well established and committed to delivering an outstanding service. Family and Children’s Services within Kensington and Chelsea offers a unique learning and development opportunity. We are developing systemic family based social work practice with the support and input of Systemic Family Therapists based within the social work teams. There is a commitment to training and supporting practice development across the service.
