Senior Finance Officer
Client Debt Team, Resources Department, Farnham House, Stevenage
Salary: £23,866 - £33,136
37 hours per week - Permanent
Working in the Client Debt Team, your communication skills will be essential in establishing good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Empathy and people skills will be required when corresponding with client’s representatives to ensure that payment is made for outstanding care charges and investigative skills will play an important part when resolving outstanding queries.
Previous experience in a supervisory role is preferable as this position involves line management of Finance Assistants. In addition to providing daily support to team members, the role also includes holding regular supervisions and discussions surrounding objectives and performance.
The role requires you to be confident in making decisions and have the ability to assert yourself in challenging situations as you will be asked to carry out more senior tasks in the absence of the Client Debt Manager. This will include attending meetings, producing reports, creating spreadsheets to assist in analysing debt figures, as well as dealing with complex cases and complaints when they arise.
An organised approach is required to ensure that corporate timescales are adhered to, so good diary and time management skills are required as the ability to prioritise workloads and deal with queries and requests promptly is essential.
The role will require you to have in depth knowledge of Excel, Word and Outlook, together with an extensive understanding of finance, such as the ability to reconcile accounts. Experience in a credit control role and the use of SAP would be an advantage.
AS PART OF THE APPLICATION YOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO COMPLETE A FULL SUPPORTING STATEMENT DETAILING YOUR SUITABILITY BASED ON THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE ROLE ON THE ATTACHED JOB OUTLINE.
As part of the interview process for this role you will be required to complete a written test. The total time you should allow for the whole process is the maximum of 2 hours.
