We are currently seeking a talented ICT Support Team Leader to lead the Support Team within ICT Operations. The ICT department at Lancaster City Council provide high quality, modern ICT services to internal departments within the Council.
The successful candidate will be based in the Council’s Old Fire Station building within the historic city of Lancaster. With a wide variety of popular food and shopping outlets, mid-week charter market and a thriving student scene, Lancaster is an enjoyable and exciting place to work.
The successful candidate must have significant experience in leading, supervising and organising staff. They must be able to demonstrate the ability to motivate and lead a team under pressure amongst changing priorities. Applicants must also be able to demonstrate their ability to work independently using their own initiative.
The Support Team focus is on 2nd and 3rd line support of technology and business applications for all areas of the organisation. Working closely with the ICT Operations Manager and ICT Service Desk Team Leader you will be part of an operations management team, focussed on providing high quality, reliable ICT services to our customers.
The successful candidate will be providing support for, but not limited to, Windows servers, MS Active Directory, Windows 8.1/10, Microsoft Office applications, Office 365, business applications, multi-function devices, mobile, fixed line and unified communications, workstation management and deployment via Microsoft SCCM, wired & Wi-Fi networks and ICT projects.
The successful candidate will have knowledge in a wide range of technical IT subject areas, excellent communication skills, be able to demonstrate confidence and experience in leading a team and will have a proactive “can do” attitude.

The hours of work are 37 hours per week, support is provided between 8:00 am and 5:15 pm Monday to Friday and all members of the Operations team are required to take part in a rota to cover phone and email support during these times. Due to the nature of the work some out of hours / weekend working will be required.
The successful applicant will be subject to a Disclosure Scotland clearance.
