This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Housing professional to manage the Housing Advice Team, develop innovative services to prevent homelessness and successfully deliver the Council's Homelessness Reduction Act duties.

With a proven track record of developing targeted housing and homelessness initiatives, you will be responsible for the direction of the team, introducing new ways of working as well as delivering new initiatives.  This Council prides itself it finding creative ways to develop new affordable housing opportunities.  You will work closely with other Council services to take forward residential opportunities to provide suitable homes for people on low income. 

You must have excellent verbal, listening and written communication skills at a strategic level to work with partners and lead the team to carry out the Council's statutory duties for customers at risk of homelessness.  You must have an excellent understanding of Part VI and Part VII of the Housing Act 1996 to review and advise on homeless and housing decisions. 

You must be an enthusiastic and driven person who can develop targeted initiatives to prevent and relieve homelessness and inspire the team to deliver customer focused housing services.
