About the Job

OneSource Legal Service provides legal advice to both Havering and Newham councils and also to a range of external public sector organisations such as schools, colleges and other Local Authorities.

Following a restructure of the legal business support team we are now looking to recruit a Legal Assistant to help support our team of over 65 fee earners. The Legal Assistant role provides support to lawyers in handling day to day  legal cases and involves such tasks as legal research, collation of court bundles, liaison with third parties such as the courts and external barristers along with maintaining case data on the services legal case management system.

At present, we are all largely working from home and ordinarily operate flexible working arrangements.  You will be expected to be able to attend both Newham and Havering’s offices as part of your duties under normal circumstances. Legal Services’ core location is at Newham’s Dockside offices situated near to London City Airport and right next to the Docklands Light Railway.

If you aspire to work within a legal environment, have excellent administrative and communication skills and the ability to work on your own initiative and meet deadlines then we would love to hear from you.

About You

You will be a team player, highly motivated and resilient. You will be confident, able to act independently and use your initiative when appropriate to ensure client’s interests are protected. Local Government experience is desirable.
